We had a Hawaiian themed party over the summer for 4th-6th graders at Bluegrass Christian Camp. The party was hosted by Lexington Christian Academy’s elementary campus. The “retreat” as we call it is a yearly event that has been happening for quite some time - at least ten years now. The retreat is two days of nonstop learning, team-building, and most of all, fun. I served as a counselor for the second year and have been blessed immensely by these children.

If you are not familiar with Ichthus Festival and you enjoy Christian music. I highly suggest you check this organization out. Every year there is a festival style concert (three days of back to back music) on some farmland in Wilmore. They just recently moved the festival from Spring to Summer allowing even more people to attend. I went out to hear Michael W. Smith, the last act, a couple of years ago. Towards the end of his act white flakes started to fall.

Taken in Phillips Mitchell Studios in downtown Lexington, KY. Chan and Sarah are both totally fun and totally serious… well, maybe not so serious. It was a fun day to take a few photos. I would completely recommend Phillips to anyone in the area who is looking for a good portrait photographer. His work is top-notch in every way.

This image is from quite some time ago when I was in Moscow, Russia. The city is amazing. One of the nights that I was there, my group attended the circus - quite a show! Animals everywhere, amazing acrobatics, hilarious clowns… of course, though, everything was in Russian. I definitely don’t claim to have a working knowledge of the Russian vernacular, so some of the stunts were a little confusing at times. The night was amazing, hilarious, and definitely a night that I will not forget.

To see more images of the Moscow circus… (more…)

As I hurried down a sidewalk in downtown Paris, all I could see were tall buildings. Suddenly, there was a break from the norm - a gap between two buildings. There it was, off on the horizon, but still very close. The Eiffel Tower was breathtaking. I love the beautiful fire escape on the building in the foreground… talk about a spiral staircase!
“You can’t escape the past in Paris, and yet what’s so wonderful about it is that the past and present intermingle so intangibly that it doesn’t seem to burden.” -Allen GinsbergĀ
